Cooling Tower Upgrade
Location: Botany Bay, NSW
Job Type: Cooling Tower Upgrade
Client: Qenos
Contractor: Marley Flow Control

The Problem
Marley Flow Control was contracted to complete a cooling tower upgrade to the Qenos facility in Botany Bay. The infrastructure that was currently in use was ageing and inefficient, with Qenos requiring the new facility to be able to handle higher thermal loads while minimising the downtime of the tower. The challenge at hand requires us to deliver a robust, long-term solution with no disruption to plant operations.
Our Approach
Marley Flow Control engineered a high-performance, corrosion-resistant system tailored to industrial demands:
-
Tower Selection:
-
Installed Marley NC Series cooling towers for optimal thermal performance
-
Choose stainless steel casing to withstand harsh coastal and chemical exposure
-
-
Installation Strategy:
-
Conducted on-site assembly to accommodate space constraints and reduce transport risk
-
Coordinated with Qenos operations to ensure minimal disruption during switchover
-
-
System Integration:
-
Upgraded associated pipework and supports
-
Implemented vibration isolation and noise control measures
-
The Result
This project highlights Marley Flow Control’s ability to deliver industrial-grade cooling solutions with precision and operational sensitivity.

-
Improved Cooling Efficiency
-
Extended Equipment Lifespan
-
Reduced Maintenance Requirements
-
Zero Unplanned Downtime During Installation
